A healthy heart not only helps you to live longer, but every day you feel better, more vital and stronger. For this reason, it is important that you give your heart a little help and support it with our five tips.
Our five tips
Tip 1: A healthy diet is essential to strengthen the heart. Vegetables and fruits belong in a heart-healthy shopping cart. In addition, nuts, seeds, linseed and olive oil. You can combine these ingredients with many different delicacies. Try not to cook too greasy or sugary.
Tip 2: As a flexitarian, you can support your heart very well, because they eat meat less often, but if they do, only high quality. So reduce your meat consumption and only use high-quality organic meat if necessary. It contains significantly more vitamins, but fewer pollutants. It is also recommended if you eat red meat less often. Processed meat products are also less good for the heart.
Tip 3: A little salt here and a pinch there. Instead of showering your dishes with salt to achieve the spicy taste, try herbs instead. Pepper and chilli are also much healthier for the heart. Watch out: there are tons of salt in finished products. Better not do it. It is best if you stand in front of the stove and cook yourself.
Tip 4: Fat is not the same as fat. There are saturated and unsaturated fatty acids. We recommend that you largely do without saturated fat. Most of them come from animal sources such as meat, eggs or milk. Unsaturated or polyunsaturated fatty acids are healthier for your heart. They can be found in nuts, seeds and high-quality vegetable oils. We primarily recommend omega-3 fatty acids because they promote the cardiovascular system.
Tip 5: In addition to a healthy diet, exercise also plays an essential role in keeping your heart healthy. Not every sport is recommended, it is spoken of so-called heart-friendly movements. It is enough if you integrate a few movement units into your everyday life. For example, take the stairs instead of the elevator or just go for a walk. Ideally, you would get around 2.5 hours of exercise a week.
